Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo
« on: December 18, 2014, 05:13:51 AM »
Hello All

So last year I made a facebook account, posted a couple of my sequences and they shut me down. This year I put up a sequence on a Vimeo account and they removed it. Am I not holding my tongue correctly. Why is it that the very same music is up on these sites, but when some of us try to post this music we get nailed.

I would like to find a way to post some of my work so that friends and relatives can easily access with streaming and not have to download.

I am interested to know if you all have had similar experiences and what the next step would be.

Thanks
and Merry Christmas

Run the song through Audacity and change key. Most can't tell including  id software.

I've never had any problems using any of the mentioned providers.  I know that if YouTube matches "3rd Party Content" they won't allow the video to show on mobile devices, but will allow it on desktop computers.  You can dispute this and then your video is viewable on mobile devices.  I'm intrigued with changing the key in Audacity.

The following was posted on DLA.  I have it saved in my email for quick reference.  Here's how to dispute in YouTube:

http://diylightanimation.com/index.php?topic=13233.msg168869#msg168869

I have been using Vimeo with no issues at this time, but I also know when it comes to Youtube people are using this method to get by the issue. All I am doing is passing on information here

1) Go to "My Videos".
2) Select "Resolve Copyright" on the video you are having copyright issues with. OR, go to the video itself and choose "resolve copyright" from there.
3) Scroll down and pick the option "I want to learn more about this dispute process".
4) Scroll down and pick the option "Take me to the dispute form".
5) Pick option #2 and PASTE the following statement into the text bar next to it;

"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."

6) Fill out the rest of the info on the page. Use your REAL name where it asks for it. Choose "Continue" when all information has been filled out.
7) Scroll down on the next page and select "Submit dispute".

Within 2-3 minutes your video's audio should be back!

Occasionally this will not work. Like I said in the video, this copyright covers 99% of copyrighted entertainment (From what I found out at least). Also, this will ONLY apply if you are not making any profit off your videos. If you intend to become a youtube partner, I would not suggest doing this.

I've only used YouTube.  I followed those steps outlined in the last post a few years ago and it worked.  The last couple years they haven't seemed to be blocking my videos.  They do say matched 3rd party content but they just insert links for someone to buy the music.  I know people that have liked a song and bought it so I feel like I've contributed to their sales.

I just watched your video.  The tree is beautiful and you created some great color combinations and showed me some new things.  I loved how you had the curtain effect revealing the spiral I hadn't thought of that type of thing.  I've been mainly stuck doing things on effect 1 only.  And I love that song.  I used to play it on guitar while a lady in church sang it solo.

Here is a little more info you all and 4 photos. Mary did U know only uses the meg tree and the 10 small trees.

The small trees are a real surprise I had no Idea how neat they would be. They are 80 nodes each tree.  In the photo you can see I have them on 1/4" PC alum. Ran the nodes up and then extended the wire down and ran the nodes up again.    I did not want to have the software do the splitting. The Meg tree is only in the front <180 the tighter the better effects. Last year setting this up in the back year I lost the entire tree. Wind snapped the pole and 2200 nodes and the star hit the ground. This year I have the 3 cables holding the pole and a main cable to counter the weight of the strands in the front, they are not real tight but I am pulling them forward. and then I have a longer back up counter support cable.  I had all kinds of problems with the rgb's from Ray. He had a chip problem and to his credit he replaced an order of 2600 nodes. I did pay him for the shipping but We completely threw away the entire meg tree pole and all and had to completely  rebuild it for this year. So far I have only replace <20 out of 2600. I also have a lift behind the meg tree you can't see if from out front. It is a necessity for me with bad knees, I picked up one from a rental place last year worth every penny.

I have so much detail that needs to be worked out. but for the most part I am the only one who sees the issues except for you all.

If you have any other questions just let me know.

And Jim,  Wizards in Winter is the only song that I have everything going at once. I also like it when things are choreographed and you don't need everything on to make a nice showing.

Brad
