Title: Webservices support
Post by: willem on April 09, 2015, 10:27:25 AM
Maybe this is already possible, but support for Webservices / a Web UI would be cool.

I am thinking of building a webpage, where viewers of the show can start songs themselves (for example from their smartphone). In order to get this to work, some sort of webservices (soap/rest) are required. Any thoughts?

That's how I ran my show last year.

1. Create all NC seqeunces.
2. Export / copy to FalconPi player
3. Load the Falcon Pi Player web page via Wifi on Tablet or phone.
4. Play as needed via Wifi device.

Optional : Big Green Button addon for PiPlayer

you can the xlights scheduler for your show or use the Falcon Player (FPP) to run it.
For the last two years I have run my show with the FPP.

The FPP has so many features already available to do what you want.
We have no plans to enhance the xLights scheduler.

Last year someone allowed people to text their names and they would appear immediately on the running show.
You can control the songs via your phone , you can have triggers that launch the show (relays, switches, photo sensors .etc.)

The FPP is the way to go
