Title: Single Strand Effects don't look right
Post by: Aaron Maue on February 08, 2014, 08:39:38 PM
I didn't use any single strand effects last year, and for the sake of not changing sequencing software during the development of my sequences, I sequenced everything with version 3.2.1.

This year, I'm doing my roofline in pixabulbs, so I'm going to implement some single string effects.  To that end, I've downloaded a couple of the newer versions.  3.3.0 and 3.3.2.  In both versions, the single string effects don't do what I expect them to do (at least from what I'm seeing in the real-time preview in the Nutcracker tab).

Right-left does what I'd expect (starts at the right side of the line and moves left and then "wraps around").  Left-right looks like a bounce (starts at both sides, moves toward the opposite sides, bounces off and comes back).  Auto reversed does something else (tough to explain).  Bounce looks like Right-left.  And Pacman looks like Right-left.  What's even more strange is that, when I hover my mouse over the Chase Types button, Bounce and Pacman both look like Bounce.

If I revert back to 3.2.9, Left-right and Right-left work as I'd expect.  Auto reverse does something different than in 3.3.2.  Maybe this is what it's supposed to look like.  Bounce looks like Right-left, unless I hover the mouse over the Chase Types button.  Then, it looks pretty much like I'd expect.  Pacman looks like Right-left unless I hover over the Chase Types button.  Then, it looks like Left-right.

The other effects (spiral, butterfly, bars, etc.)

I've heard from one other of you that you see the same thing, but was wondering if this was happening to everyone.  Anyone try this out?

Thx.

Thanks, Sean. If you need a beta tester for anything, I'm pretty good at breaking stuff. :D

Thanks Sean for all that you do. I also are seeing crazy things with the single strand. Will be waiting for your update on this. Thanks Again

Maybe gled effects over a single strand (like a 1x120 sized matrix) will work. Should try it and see. Hmmmm.
