This is my next model in fabrication.
26 x 1m long acrylic tubes on a central hub.
Will be filled with pixels.
I am wondering if anyone has made one. I have seen Pinwheels and the likes but not a "blow-fish". ;D
The pixels will be one continuous string from 1 thru 27, with 27 being the hub so sequencing as a string would be OK but would be limiting i believe.
Looking for ideas on sequencing suggestions.

From your description you seem to be referring to something similar to this:
https://vimeo.com/85588446 (https://vimeo.com/85588446)
I have attached a How-To to give you an idea of my configuration, which is basically 25 spokes, each with 13 pixels and numbered starting from the hub and extending to the tip of each spoke then returning to start the next spoke (i.e. Spoke 1 - at hub #1 at tip #13, Spoke 2 - At hub #14, at tip #26). The Starburst required 3 SSCs and a total of 325 pixels. I also started at the upper most spoke and added spokes, in order, counter clockwise on the upper row, then continued the middle row and finally the lower row.
I have found, that the once configured in this way, the easiest model to use is a simple 13 x 25 matrix, which will have your effects appear to be emanating from the center or tips of the Starburst on effects which go up or down the matrix and rotating around it on sweeps from one side of the matrix to the other.
Here the link to another thread on the Starburst

Great Ron. I just need to get some of those hubs as never seen them in New Zealand.

They are a "fishing" item, used to create fish habitats like a dead tree would do. Check your NZ sporting goods stores.

i made a star from aporcupine ball. I used a vertical matrix as the model
Now when i put bars going down, the bars started at center of display and moved out. Spirals, fire, twinkle, shimmer, color wash all worked.
