I can get anywhere between 1 & 3 clicks on sequenced effects within the grid before the program crashes and OS X produces a crash report, snippet below for the crashed thread. Rolled back to 4.1.6 and there are no problems with clicking effects.

Can you attache the xlights report? I cannot reproduce this, but it could be specific to a certain effect type or something.
-
xLights is not generating a debug report with this crash, otherwise I would attach it for you. Some sequences won't produce the crash when I click on a certain effect, but another sequence with the same effect will. No rhyme or reason. Most effects on my sequence grid will crash the program right now when I simply click on them. So this version is not usable at all for me.
I'm running xLights this weekend on my wife's MacBook Air and I can try it on my iMac when we return on Sunday. Not sure if that would make a difference or not?
I did re-render and save the files, but it didn't help. Playback on the layout tab works fine.

Well then attach your sequence XML file and the xlights_rgbeffects.xml and xlights_networks.xml files in a zip file to this thread. I'm not getting any crashes when clicking on effects.
Sean is gone for 4 days and did that release right before he left so you will probably need to stick with the previous version for a few days even if we find a fix.

Here are my files. I did test creating a new sequence and added effects that were crashing the program. I'm able click until my fingers are sore and no crash. As soon as I load a previously saved sequence and click on a effect, crash.
-
I tried your file and couldn't get it to crash on Windows. I'll see if Dan gets a chance to try it out on Mac or I'll have to get my Mac setup up to date to try it later.

I'm having a crashing issue in 4.1.7 also.
Everytime I try to save any sequence, the program crashes.
I have attached the crash report as a pdf
I am using a Mac by the way
Going back to 4.1.6 in the meantime
-
I see nothing but 39 blank pages in that PDF file.

I see nothing but 39 blank pages in that PDF file.
Oh, that's weird. Don't know what happened there, sorry.
I'll try again
-
Anything useful in the crash report I posted?
I have not been able to use 4.1.7 at all on any of my macs due to the software crashing on saving.
Even re-downloading the software with a new install didn't help.
4.1.6 is working fine so Im using that at present.

Nothing I could figure out. I responded about my theory on the crashes in another thread.
-
I just stuck a new "4.1.7b" build for the Mac up. I made a few changes that may help and a couple that I *KNOW* were causing the Mac build to crash when flipping tabs. Please give that a try and see if it helps. If not, I'll likely need new stack traces along with the xlights_* files and sequence XML files.

Working for me now. Thanks Dan.
