Title: Strange software problem!
Post by: BobinWV on March 17, 2014, 01:44:05 PM
This past Friday I fired up xl/nc and received two error messages:
'Unable to load RGB effects file'
and once the program loaded I received:
XML parsing error :'duplicate attribute' at line 7

I saved all of my data to a separate folder and re-installed a fresh copy of xl/nc and had the same problem.  Frustrated, I restored to a week ago and tried again.  Much better, but now I am experiencing a different problem.   When I am using the test tab the program will freeze.  This may happen with numerous attempts and then inexplicably it will correct its self.  This has happened several times over the past few days..Always while using the test tab.  The nutcracker tab has never caused a problem.

The system is relatively new and only used for Christmas related tasks.

Thoughts-suggestions?

Regards-

Bob, have you been using the Archive feature (heavily promoted by Sean) ??

If so, all your XML files, including that RGB Effects file, are backed up. You could find an old one that works.

Also, what directory are you using as the xLights directory? (on the setup page).

Jon Thanks for the response.  No I have not been using the Backup feature.  My problem only occurs when I am in the test tab.  I have never had a problem using nutcracker..
All of my files are stored in the default directory. C:\Program Files (x86)\xLights
