Title: set up to play
Post by: THurrle on July 12, 2015, 09:48:50 AM
Ok I hope I have this right. I have some videos in mp4 format and sequences for nutcracker (fseq). Let me see if I have to connections correct to play my show. I have my computer with a dongle going to my controllers, then I have my projector connected thru the vga connection to my computer. Once I play a sequence if it has video I should be able to see it correct. I can play the videos in xlights now but have not gotten to the controller hook up yet nor the projector. If I have this all wrong correct me. I using a PC not teh PI. Having problems getting it working for me but will keep trying.
Thanks
Terry

Is your projector showing a duplicate of your PC screen?  Get that working first and then since you say you can play videos in xlights it should just be a matter of duplicating your screen to the projector.  I wasn't sure when you said "...but have not gotten to the controller hook up yet nor the projector." does that mean you didn't hook them up yet?  An earlier sentence made it sound like they were hooked up.  Are you saying you've never gotten your controller to work?  I'd try to tackle one thing at a time.  Tell us what's going on with the controller and lets get that working.  Then worry about video later.

I have just tested the videos in xlights and no controllers yet. I have many ready to go but just want to make sure I can get xlights working for me. I have had the projector connected to a computer to map the house and it shows the pc screen doing that. I have a VGA splitter able so I can see both the projector and the pc on a monitor. Is this what you are referring to?

I'm a big fan of just try it and tell us how it works.
