Does xLights support (Apple) AirPlay?
It would great if xLights supported AirPlay. That way we could share the music being played, but not from just the computer. We could send the music to one or more AirPlay media amplifiers with needing the wires to get to it.
Best regards,
Rick

just the other day I saw a youtube that discussed the steps to add Airplay to the Raspberry Pi.

I don't see how this would integrate with the FPP software, however.
Maybe you are suggesting that FPP would be a transmitter, whereas this video is about making the Pi a receiver.

I have a couple of Macs and several airplay devices, most notably my av receiver and spare amp that i use to drive outside speakers. If I am playing music from my Mac I want to be able to stream music to those devices.
I can wirelessly stream data to my controller from my pc or mac(s) and it seems to work fairly well. I haven't tried a full system test yet with my complete set up to tell if the bandwidth is wide enough yet.

What you need is a piece of software that will allow you to play audio from non-AirPlay sources over AirPlay. Just so happens, someone already made it: http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/
Hope it helps!

check out this and it may help getting all mac audio out to your airplay device. http://osxdaily.com/2012/08/01/stream-all-mac-system-audio-over-airplay-os-x/

Wow, even better! Learn something new every day!

Thanks you all and sorry for the late reply. Multiple family issues turned our world upside down, but I'm back. I was hoping to connect to multiple airplay devices, but that does not appear to be possible. Unfortunate, but not the end of the world.

Airfoil is the answer to this problem. It works on linux, windows, osx and phones. This is actually my solution.
