Anyone have a way to model snowfall tubes?
Thanks
Andy

To make the model, just use single strand with the # pixels on your model.
To create the effect, it's already there. Use the METEORS effect. On the effect settings change the effect type to Icicles. Bam.. snowfall tube like effect.

Thanks. The tubes are AC and run from a D-Light board. Is there any way to get the effect using just one channel?

Does the D-light board provide the meteor effect when power is applied?
-
No, its just an AC board, the cascade is provided by a pic chip

Your not going to see the effect in our preview the way you will see it on the real hardware. In our preview you would model it as a single node and when you see it turn on it would represent activating the hardware. Same as when I trigger my laser...it doesn't look like a laser inside our program it's just a single pixel to represent it.

Could a "display" model be made as a single strand and add to the layout but un-check the "Part of my display" Then the effect could be seen as a meteor but it would be a single output to the actual model?????

The problem is to activate the snowfall tube you will be sending it a solid on signal not a meteor effect so however you model the elements its going to just look like its solid on when running.

The preview is really just to let you have an idea of what things look like it's not meant to be a perfect replica of your display.

Thanks for the help. I will just put it as a string running off one channel.
