Title: Matrix mess zig zag
Post by: harrison0550 on March 22, 2014, 10:02:53 PM
I just got a Matrix and the guy that made it zig zagged the pixels vertically up and down. Is there anyway to set this up in nutcracker? He went 10 pixels up vertically  and 36 pixels horizontally like the pic below....

What single controller are you using for 360 pixels?  (I ask, because I would have done 3 controllers (3 channels, anyway) of 120 to avoid power injection)

I saw this yesterday at the TN mini and I believe it is a San Devices controller.

Yes Jim it was configured for a sandwvices controller but I use all J1sys boards. That is where the confusion came in. Doug originally had it on a 682 but I am running it on a P2. No wiring changes were needed. Just had so change the way it was setup in xlights. Running like a champ now out of 1 output of a J1sys ECG-P2, I will use the second output to run my entire roof line like I did last year. :)

I take it u have power injection , like every 100 lights?

Glad you got it working. There is no limit in nutcracker so you could have had 3600 pixels instead of 360

Yea I'm pretty sure the guy that built it put power injection every 50 pixels. It's built out of 5v nodes and invaded in a box with a plixiglass front. Makes it super easy to hook up. Just one line coming out for power, one for ground, and one for data.
