I have a series of models that I put in a group. I am trying to start a morph across them at a particular time. I set the effect to the timing mark but it appears to fire about 1/2 second later. Any ideas

I take it you haven't been reading the forum past couple days. It's because of the placement of the models on the layout. The effect is being applied to the whole screen but you don't see it show up till it hits where the nodes are for the model group. If you want it to hit earlier you need to adjust the start positions.

Here is a very useful post about why a Morph or Chase or etc.. may seem to start late on a Group of models.

This is always a tricky thing to get right.
(but if anyone can build options and enhancements than Gil and Dan can !)
Hate to refer to LSP , but by the time freshers (including myself last year) , found out how the rendering across the stage v/s model worked and important it was to ensure that the location and how you drew your models was "correct" , you were basically sc***ed for that year when you finally got good enough to try some macros etc. No one then has the time or inclination to redraw everything and face all the disruption.
So you end of then using the effects that are agnostic to this layout.
