Had a weird one today--running W10 and XL4.1.13--neither the sequencer nor the layout would play any sequences. I tried several. So, I did the old standard IT first question "did you try rebooting?". . Worked. Just figured I would post this in case it happens to others...

Similar issues with model and display playback. Exited. Deleted fseq file. Started and saved. ...worked.

Happened to me again. Same "fix"--exited program, turned laptop off & back on. A little bit result after rebooting this time--layout played the sequence ok but had to re-render to get the sequencer to play the sequence. The sequence info was visible on the sequencer screen; it just didn't play until after re-rendering. Anyway, probably another W10 thing....

Personally I won't even go near w10 for something as important as the Christmas lights until next year.
Otherwise with the huge amount of enhancements in xlights and the FP that are occurring every week, that is like to keep up with,
I don't want another variable :) :)
Now the home computer that the family uses ..no problem .... Oh wait then the wife will hassle me and will eat into my Christmas lights time..

This just demonstrates why one should not jump into new OS versions the day they are available. Spoken with over 40 years experience in the IT business.
-
Oh well I've jumped now... I'll fight it through....

Danj, Others are reporting no problems. What was your upgrade path?
-
Jon--not sure how to answer. I had the little W10 icon at the lower right hand side of my laptop screen. I had a notification two nights ago that I could download W10, so I downloaded. Hope that answer makes sense

I wasn't specific enough :(
What version of Windows were you running? (Win 7 32bit, Win 7 64bit, Win 8.1 32 or 64, etc....)
Still waiting for my icon to signal the arrival. I'm running Win 8.1 Pro 64bit.
So I'm curious how it went for different "starting points"
I've got a Vista 32bit that I'm still debating about the upgrade. Since it won't be free, I may take the opportunity to get Win10 and a new SSD for a clean start. It is the computer used primarily by my wife and only has a average size , single monitor. Not a preferred Nutrcracker platform.

Hi,
As has been pointed out , there is a slight problem even on other Windows versions with 4.1.13 and the render.
(Gil and Dan responded about a week ago)
You may wish to try 4.1.12 (I simply reinstalled over existing after backing up ) on your W10 (to see if you have the same problem) or wait till the next release of xl.
I suppose it depends on how well xwidgets works with W10 now.

Thanks Gerry. I think I am going to stay where I am in terms of W10/xlights/etc.... Just little aggravations not big meltdowns...
