I had several crashes tonight. I' m using 4.1.13 and have to render to see the effects on the sequence after I change or adjust the effect. (slows things down a lot). Several times after a render I get the box that says X lights has stopped working, and I get a shut down. This also happened twice during a save. Also I cant find the back ups that I generated or the crash back that was mentioned in the expo video.

Hi,
I suggest that you :
Open xl and press F10 , that will create a backup of the xml files in a subdirectory called Backup in your show directory (each backup is a separate sub folder to the previous one) , so this is where u can find the older ones.
Reinstall 4.1.12 over your existing xlights.
See if u still have the same problem

I was having some rendering issues today and solved it with a reboot. I may be mistaken, but I feel that I have had this happen before if I leave XL running on my PC for a couple of days straight.

So the only thing I can think of RGBNoob is that currently I'm not limiting the Undo buffer so if you use it for 2 days its constantly chewing up memory for the Undo feature. You don't need to restart you PC that won't do anything for xLights but closing and reopening a sequence will reset the Undo buffer.

Great, thanks.
