Title: Adding an effect to an imported sequence
Post by: scuba on April 21, 2014, 06:36:55 PM
I have an existing Xlights sequence that I imported into Xlights (fromLSP)...I'd like to 'change an effect' for my Mega Tree...I thought there was a way to do that; where a new effect could be overwritten  over the existing section for a period of time:( i.e. 56.5 -73.0 seconds).

Do I have that right ? If so is there a post that deals with that?

when you say "overlay" what do you mean?

say you had an effect that was doing rainbow lights on your megatree for 3 minutes from lsp. you want a new nutcracker effect from 30 to 50 seconds. make two rows in the grid , 30 and 50. Now in the 30 second slot put in your new effect. In the 50 second slot put in "none, none" so nutcracker wont step on anything else.

if you mean merge a nutcracker effect into your lsp effect, like merging colors and such we dont do that.
Either nutcracker owns the time frame (or cell of the grid) or it doesnt.

Sean
I don't want to merge the effects...more like substitute one for the other.  I tried your example and it plays in nutcracker very well.  I tried preview but no change occurred....after I saved it, the new effect plays perfect in Preview...Well Done!

Thank you for your help.

John; remember that preview only plays Xseq files, it does NOT generate effects it just plays the data file. So ALWAYS save before you go to the preview tab. Thanks sean
