Title: Can I have two separate runs of LOR controllers?
Post by: msiebri on August 31, 2015, 10:42:29 AM
I was getting close to the LOR maximum overall controller run length last year, so I was thinking about breaking my run of controllers into 2 separate ones.  I setup a quick test for this.

I have LOR controllers ID 1 & 2 on a USB dongle on COM7.  I have LOR controller ID 3 on another USB dongle on COM3.  I have them defined in the setup tab.  I have output 1 from each controller configured in a test sequence with just an On effect for 15 seconds.  When I play the sequence, the outputs on controller 1 & 2 light as they should, but controller 3 stays dark.  When I click on "Output to Lights", the lights on all 3 LOR controllers go from flashing to solid, which indicates they have an active network connection.

Is anybody else running a configuration like this?

Try setting your LOR controller ID 3 to ID 1 since it is the first controller in that chain.

That did the trick, thanks!

But now I have another question.  Once this was working, I defined a single E1.31 universe in my setup tab.  Once I did that, the LOR controlled lights stopped working.  I tried defining it as Universe 2 and 3, but neither worked.  I didn't create any models, just the universe.  How do I fix that?

Is the e1.31 above your LOR outputs in the config screen?  If so, it shifted your LOR channels up by 512 or 510 channels or whatever the size of the universe is.
