Title: Adding a sfeq to a sfeq
Post by: stallionent on September 28, 2015, 08:57:56 AM
I have 3 .sfeq (with 3 mp3s), can I add them to make 1 .sfeq?

One.sfeq + Two.fseq + Three.sfeq = One.sfeq

i assume you mean fseq (Falcon sequence). The fseq file was first created by Dave Pitts for use on the FPP Falcon Player in 2013. We adopted the fseq as our output file for xLights 4. xLights 3 used to have an xseq file.

The short answer is no, you cant combine them.

Why would you want to do so? Each fseq will be all the  rendered data for a song. So
wizards.fseq
carol.fseq
sarajevo.fseq

If you want these three sequences to play one after the other, just use the scheduler in either xlights or in FPP

Thanks Sean. Now I have to find scheduler in Xlights or FPP (which is better?_

Fpp ,using the raspberry pi, is better. Each raspberry pi can handle over 100,000 channels and costs less than $50. Xlights scheduler is rock solid also

Stallionent,

I just finished doing this to see how involved it was.

Had two songs with two sequences and the same set of models.
Went into Audacity and combined the two songs to make one song.
Created new sequence in xLights with the newly made combined audio track.
Dropped in all of the models which were used in the original two sequences into the newly created sequence.
Opened up the sequence which contained the original 1st song in another instance of xLights on my 2nd monitor.
Copied all of the effects and pasted them model by model into the appropriate model onto the newly created sequence.
Opened up the sequence which contained the original 2nd song
Copied all of the effects and pasted them model by model into the appropriate line onto the newly created sequence.
Result:  A newly created sequence with 2 songs combined and 2 sequences of effects copied over

It took a little while.
