Hi Sean

I just went from 3.3.5 to 3.3.6 and I'm now getting the following error on startup.

The program can't start because wxmsw30ud_ccc_customdll is missing. ..

I've had no issues with any previous versions.

Win7 64 bit here

I'll add that the 3.3.6 icon for xlights.exe is showing as a generic windows icon, not the C9 yellow bulb icon.

Flyinverted - Try downloading and reinstalling it again.

I do have that wxmsw30ud_ccc_custom.dll file in my xLights folder. I doubt it can run wxwidgets without it.

I'm getting a "can't open C:\Program Files (x86)\xLights\heartbeat.cfg" error, but it is working fine.

I created a dummy file with some random text in it, named it "heartbeat.cfg" and I'm getting no error message now.

I get an error when trying to open 3.3.6....

XL/NC opens but when I click on the Nutcracker tab I get

"can't open file 'C:\Program file\xlights\heartbeat.cfg' (error 0:the operation completed successfully.)

Do I need to do something differently?

Thanks...

SC

I got it to work on computer #2, but with the same benign heartbeat.cfg file missing error.

It does consistently crash though when I try a to open a .xseq converted from a glediator capture. I think Sean mentioned he's still working on that code.

I quit thinking about glediator when I saw the post that it only works with the horizontal matrix....don't have one of those.  I can open an .xseq file and haven't had a crash....but I still get the "heartbeat" message....which, not knowing what that is associated with, makes me a bit paranoid that it could crash right in the middle of working on an effect...

Just noticed (took some time for it to change) but my Yellow Inverted xLights Bulb icon is also gone.

While I did find the files "heartbeat.cfg" and "xlights.ico" in a GitHub zip file, I still don't have my little yellow icon. I'm guessing the EXE compile didn't quite get everything. :(

I did re-download and re-install, but there was no change.

Looks like a 3.3.7 fix is out now.

When upgrading from 3.3.5 to 3.3.6 I also received the missing heartbeat error message. However everything appears to be functioning correctly. I like the direction control in butterfly effect. Can we get the center 'evil eye' (the other butterfly effect) to go backwards also?

Still having a problem with the new sine wave not appearing in preview. Has that been addressed? I have seen a few posts that others were also not seeing the wave appear in preview.

Thanks for all your work!!  Nutcracker Rocks!!--Greg--

Interesting.....wave works perfectly for me in preview....just can't export it to HLS.  I know Sean said he was tinkering with that issue....maybe since they just had the release of 3.3.6 most of the effort was to get the upgrade out first.....

SantaCarl, are you seeing these wave effects in the nutcracker 'tab' or in the preview 'tab'?

I am able to see these wave effects in the 'nutcracker tab' but after saving, I see no wave effects in the 'preview tab'. --Greg--

Greg...

My bad....I don't really use the preview so I was seeing it in the "Nutcracker tab"....I export to HLS and use the preview there.

I did try the preview though.....it wouldn't work with wave......

Is it normal after installing the latest release for it to delete the previous xlights sequence?  The xseq file is gone from the folder.

Well...I'm far from the expert but I have not experienced that after a release upgrade.....

The only time I've seen that was when I moved the file to another location myself or one time when I changed the default directory....

Did you try doing a search for the file?  Hopefully it's not "gone".....  Check to make sure your default directory is pointing to the old location....

That's about the extent of the help I can offer.....I'm not a developer type....but I do spend quite a bit of time finding my own mistakes!   ;D

Nope, there is nothing in the code that will delete anything. I have dont over 100 installs over the last year and never seen anythign lost. I would like to know the steps that could duplicate this.

You are doing "File,Backup" on a regular basis and especially before you install a new released? This will make a  copy of every sequence you have. You will find these backups in the Backup directory of your show folder.

Sean, I did NOT do a file backup when going from 3.3.5 to 3.3.6 and I did see those errors as others did. I WILL always do a file backup from now on prior to upgrading. I doubt that I will be on the call tonight due to time and driving constraints however I always view the vimeo's a day or so later.  I probably will download the latest version tomorrow morning. --Greg--
