Title: How do I get rid of the white border when using pictures?
Post by: Greg.Ca on May 11, 2014, 08:47:44 PM
I'm starting to use clip art and animated gifs in my 'picture effects' but most of the clip art and animated gifs all seem to have a white border that is filling up my mega tree with way too much white around the desired effect. Too much white is flooding my megatree (46X150 pixels) with undesired white. How do I get rid of the white border around the Jpegs and animated gifs?

Look at the example below. The animated gif works perfect and looks cool on my mega tree but I have to get rid of that white border. Not sure how to do it?

How do I find jpegs and gifs without the annoying white border? Thanks

I just ms paint to first crop and then resize the images

Sean,

I can crop and that could help a little but only if the picture is exactly square or rectangular. I'm starting to believe that I somehow have to remove the white border pixel by pixel if my jpeg or animated gif is not exactly square or rectangular. In my example a 'bell' is rather 'round' and therefore I will still have some white around the picture. Is there an easier way to get rid of the white border other than ms paint? --Greg--

Greg, I put that animated gif into one of my sequences and I don't see a white border (in Preview). My 40x30 matrix is not assembled at the moment, so I'm trusting the Preview and also IrfanView is showing no white border.

Do you have something in Effect 2 that is causing it?

Ah, an animated gif.

I use ezgif
 http://ezgif.com/resize/c16ac5a76f.gif
to resize and edit animated gifs.

here is your gif resized to 32x32
