I have a spinner setup as a custom model in xlights as per the attached PDF file. I've include a picture and my rgb effects file. I have three of these built...two are 120 led strips (8 arms of 15 nodes per arm) and one is a 240strip spinner (16 arms).
I can't figure out an effect though to make my spinner spin. I'd like to have the arm 1-15 light up one color for a second then turn off and then the arm beside it nodes 91-105 all light up for a second and then continue around.
What is the best way to set up the spinner model? I don't really care what it looks like on the preview, but it would be nice to have it look like the proper effect. I think last year I used a horizontal matrix but don't think it worked too well either so I just did a bunch of random effects and said good enough for any girl I'd go out with...and i'd deal with it next year.
My options are to get a new wife or ask you folks how to make this spin!!
So....here I am. humbled by a 120 node spinner!
Thoughts on how to tackle this one? I know everyone is probably crazy busy this weekend with sequencing and setup for the holidays, so if there isn't a quick and easy way of doing this, no worries, but if there is something that someone did already let me know.
Cheers!

Maybe create another custom model with the nodes in the specific order to make it spin.

I'll try a horizontal matrix...
Current channel setup
1 -17599 17643
2 - 17644 17688
3 - 17689 17733
4 - 17734 17778
5 - 17779 17823
6 - 17824 17868
7 - 17869 17913
8 - 17914 17958
Based on my spinner my orders should be...
1 7 6 3 2 8 5 4
and see what happens...
let me try that

With this setup I have two arms like 1-2 chasing 5-6 chasing 3-4 chasing 2-1, but I want just one arm at a time. (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/20/662483712227a1f05695e3bc320b362b.jpg)
I am using a horizontal matrix as the model for sequence and the custom model for the display.

I am content with the two arms. https://vimeo.com/146512716 (https://vimeo.com/146512716)
