When I set up arches in my models I am trying to do three arches and play them one at a time. Each time I try this I get my arches but they all play at the same time. Can someone possibly help me to do this right if it can be done.
Sean, Thank you for this forum. I am sure it will get a lot of viewers and possibly help you to just post in one forum in the time to come.

I have 2 sets of models for the arches. The first is called 4 arches - where all 4 arches are treated as one element. Then I have Arch 1, Arch 2, Arch 3 and Arch 4. That way I can have each of the arches doing something completely different if I want. On the preview, I put the individual arches as close to the 4 arches and call it good.

I name my arches arch1 arch2 and arch 3. But when I play the preview back they all play at the same time even though in the test sequence I give each arch a different starting time.
This is what the model looks like when I set it up.

Are they all the same starting channel also?

Donny,
No they are all different starting channels
arch 1 3305-3454
arch 2 3455-3604
arch 3605-3754

Look at the recent post about "changing timings ..."
I think you are seeing residue of an earlier save were they did start at the same time. Color Wash black is your friend to clear out "residue."

I need to check that out also! Thanks for the tip! Is this something that can be fixed within the software?

I think it's on Sean's list of possibilities, but not sure whether it'll rise to the top. An alternate way to solve this, if you don't want a number of black color washes in your grid is to delete the .xseq file. The next time you save the .xml file, a new .xseq file will be created and it won't have the "residue" as described above.

Be careful with the XSEQ file. It does have some data saved in it like length of sequence.

Maybe I've gotten lucky, but I've never had any problem with this method. YMMV.

If there is music associated with the file it will read that. If just an animation, the timing is critical and not stored in the xml.

I notice on the singleStrand effect there is a button for "group all arches". How does that work? I've got 5 Arches, each modeled separately. Can you see them all in the Nutcracker window or do you have to build a sequence to view it in Preview.
Thanks
