Not sure what to call this...
But I drop an effect on a group (MiniTrees) which contains 9 trees. It is a ramp down effect. There are random trees that will have a change in intensity (typically full on) for a period of time. If I click on the effect (applied to the group) the "ghosting" issue will shift randomly to another element.
Please take a look at the screenshot.

Have you tried re-rendering ??
-
Yes... multiple times. Using the Render All and the Update button.
-
The question is what does it do on the preview when you play it back?
-
This is almost always caused by either:
1) The "Sparkles" setting on the Color panel - although I don't believe that is a full on.
2) An overlap in channels. Turn on the checks on the layout tab and click on the minitree and see if something turns Red.
3) An effect also on that model/node. Depending on the master view order, the group could be rendered before the individual model so the effect on the model/nodes would take precendent. The fact that it "moves" means it's like a twinkle or a strobe effect or similar that has a randomness to it.

Gil... it showed the ghost in the effect on the element during playback.
Dan... bingo... sparkles. Is there a way to set the sparkles on multiple effects at the same time or do I need to do one at a time?
Thanks
