Should every .xseq file also have a .xml file when I do a backup? Reason I ask is I want to try Xlights4, but I don't see all of my sequences in .xml format.
Please direct me in the right direction.
Thanks, Terry

We actually don't use xseq files anymore. That was XL3 format. The effects are stored in the XML file for the sequence and then when you save it renders the raw data to an FSEQ file which can be used to run on a FPP. We allow you to open an XSEQ but we only use the filename and then we try to find your old XML file and convert it.

Ok, I watched the vimeo video by Sean and did an .xml backup. Now when I open them up in XL4, they import blank? Music plays, but no effects show up anywhere. I go back to XL3 and they play. Very confused.

Do not open(convert) xseq files, open the xml
Xlights had tewo filesvfor every sequence
Wizards.xml and wizards.xseq. Xmlwas like 100kbytes, xseq was like 50mbytes
Xlights4 also always has two
Wizards.xml and wizards.fseq
U want the xml files

Were your files in xl3 converted from another sequencer? If so, I believe there will not be an xml file with anything in it and you will need to reimport / convert the file for xl4 .
