Title: Birthday cake with candles
Post by: danj on June 29, 2014, 07:48:00 PM
Does XL/NC have capability to display a birthday cake with candles in a matrix?  I plan to sequence the 1st part of  "Happy birthday Jesus" this year but I am not sure if there a way to display a birthday cake with candles.  Thanks!!!!

ps would like to have the candles' flames "moving" if possible...

Put your text into effect 1 and and animated gif into effect 2. Then using the Left - Right masking method you can put effect 1 on the left and effect on the right.

The fun part will be locating a birthday cake with candles burning as an animated gif.

Hope that helps.

how many pixels in your matrix? Remember , our issue is we just dont have  as many pixels as the gifs normally use.

Look for an aniamted gif.

Thanks for the ideas!!!  I will start looking for animated gifs.  My matrix will actually be my megatree.  I plan to build it with 20 strings of 90 pixels, so I should have a fairly decent density.  Closest viewers will come to the tree is about 25'.  10' tall tree.

good thing with xlights is you get to try and see what it will look like.

20 horizontal pixels is still pretty low. remember that favicons , those little images next to web pages like cnn, foxnews, falconchristmas are 32x32.

just give the animated gifs a try on your xlights and see
