Is only the fseq file required to play the show? I am so confused about all the files and at one point my XML files were completely screwed up and I couldn't do anything with the sequences. My trouble started when I tried to transfer files from one PC to the next. I figured out I had to update the path in the xml file. Then I had trouble with getting an invalid header for the xml file. Ultimately I found the problem had to do with the version of NC. My wife had programed in vision .18 and I had .21 installed on the show computer. In the end I erased everything on the showed converter downloaded version .18 and copied the show directory from my wifes computer. Everything is now working.
Can anyone provide a brief description of the various files NC creates. Specifically Fseq Iseq Xseq and xml.
Thanks!
John

xseq is a ver 3 nutcracker file and is no longer created or used. fseq is binary data that is created when you do a save in NC. iseq is a file that is created when importing a LOR file. xml is your actual sequence source file. FPP only needs the fseq and mp3 files.

Thank you for the reply.
Just so I understand. If I want to schedule a show I only need the fseq file and mp3 file? But if I want to open it in xlights to change the sequence I need all of them (assuming a lor conversion is part of it)?

Nothing changed in the XML format between those versions so I don't expect that was really the problem. Why not just copy all the files instead of trying to narrow down the exact ones you need?
