Title: drlucas Folder
Post by: roverdish on July 01, 2014, 11:33:18 AM
Found a file folder under xlights/songs/01-Carol of the Bells Monique Danielle. Folder labeled drlucas contains an xml document called carol2. Looks like a sequence. How can I use this XML doc?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

if someone has given you a sequence.xml file, you also need the audio file they used.

if you have both
1) create a sequence using option 3) of the Open "New Musical Sequence"
select their music file
also click the 3rd option, "xLights XML".

You will eb prompted for their sequence.xml

Now you will have created a new music sequence using all teh effects and timing from the sequence.xml file you passsed in

One last task is renaming the otehr persons models to be using the models you have defined.

If that person had a model called BIG_MEAGTREE and your megatree is called MTREE, you rename their model to yours.

finally save it, you have now imported another persons sequence and made it your own. all nutcracker effects auto size to any model.

Now that is great info. I am new to RGB and to xlights but it is quickly becoming my favorite sequencer. I found additional XML files to play with within the songs folder.
Can't wait to try this when I get home.
I still use the SS auto sequencer from LOR to sequence my LED string lights then I combine them with XLights sequencing for the RGB roofline and hanging pixel curtain. I am eager to see how LOR combines the two. Best of both worlds would be incredible.

Thanks for a fantastic piece of software.

I hope this season there will be a matrix effect to go along with the  sequences :)
