Is there a way to have a channel stay on continuously throughout your show? I would like my "tune to" sign and blowups to be lit the entire time.

If you are using FPP on the Pi you can use scripts. I do that to turn my tuneto and my nativity on at the beginning of the show and off at the end of the show. Very simple. Not sure how you would do that with xlights on a PC.

Don't usually subscribe to the 'KISS' principle....
But can't you just plug them into a standard outlet and leave them on??

Or put on a timer.

Just thought that it would be nice to have a channel come on at the beginning of the show and off at the end without the need for another piece of equipment or timing it all together.

In that case I second the use of the FPP
Easily done on that.

It's on my Christmas list....

I used to put my static lights on photocell timers that would stay on for 6 hours after they came on, but the on and off times just were awkward based on my show times. Now with scripts the static stuff comes on right as the show starts and go off as soon as the show ends.

Next year, you won't even need a script to do it in FPP. One of the features of the new playlist enhancements I am working on will be the ability to turn on/off pixel overlay models and channels right from a playlist. I have the code stubbed out already on my dev system but don't have it fully hooked up yet.

X10 used to work well for that. Haha
