In test mode, my arch model ends at ch. 2820. in my Model design for candy canes. the first candy cane should start at 2821, but the list in Test shows "Ch 2821: Net 6#271".
I think this has to do with why my candy canes are not performing as expected, But I can's seem to changed this. Please help this 2015 Noob....#SoClose

When you built the model did you use the from output? All my models start at their absolute channel address. I find the from output confusing.

If you define your universes such that they match your output numbers then From Output is the least confusing method to use. I converted everything to use From Output and it's relieved a lot of headaches since I don't need to memorize that a model start on channel 8471 anymore.

I'm very new to XL also. Can you expand on this please? What do you mean by 'from' output?

Look at a model definition. You give it an absolute start channel or you give it a relative channel number based on an output number that you define in setup. As I understand it the output number is basically the line number in setup. I have all my models in a spreadsheet and it keeps track of all the channel numbers so that works good for me and I don't need the from output. Some people like to keep track of a device like a Sandevices unit that is defined in setup and has an output number with each connections starting at 1. You can take your choice. Gil likes from output, others, like me, like to use absolute channel number. Either way works, but YOU have to decide.

The start channel for the model is calculated based on the “start channel” that is offset from this ‘From Output’ number (default is 1). If you have 4 outputs setup on your setup tab being universes 1 through 4, all with 510 channels, for the model set as Start Channel “1”, From Output “2”, its real start channel in the fseq would be channel 511 (first channel of the second output). Sometimes keeping track on a “per universe” basis is easier than the raw count from the very first channel.
I had to play with it to understand it.

What would one do in this scenario if you are using 10 of the outputs on an e682?
