Title: FlexTech Light Show LED Strip Model for xLights
Post by: patdelaney on July 07, 2014, 05:24:20 PM
I have 4 sets of Gemmy Flextech strip lights. They are hackable and the information is posted on the doityourselfchristmas.com forum.

Hack: http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?24927-Flex-Tech-LightShow-How-do-we-hack-and-contrlling-with-LOR

They are NOT RGB they are a single color LEDs in groups of 12 groups of 9.
Group 1 Red, Group 2 Blue, Group 3 Green, Group 4 Yellow….. repeats until Group 12.

Is there a model currently in Nutcracker that can be used even though rainbow effects would not work. I’m more interested in the chase effects.

Each Pixel is 1 dmx address. They use 9816 protocol.

Thanks
Pat

Here is the layout of the pixels, each one is a single color with 1 dmx address:

R R R R R R R R R B B B B B B B B B G G G G G G G G G Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y   This grouping repeats 3 more times for a total of 108 LED's 108 dmx addresses.

I hope this helps

they look nice.  I'm guessing their advantage is 3x the coverage for the same price?

The price was right for me they were free I wouldn't go actively looking for these strips it's just that I got them for free. I would rather use the regular pixel strips designed for what were are using them for. The hack was just for fun. :-)
