I have a 23 channel Marty Fan above my garage door.
It is made with Multi-color LED strings.
I am getting a lot of "not in time" ON commands, visible in the attached picture, on Node/Channel 23.
All other channels seem to chase perfectly.
I have not been able to find any setting changes that make it display correctly.
I am using a custom model. Could the model possibly be involved?

What effect are you trying to place? An On effect should look exactly the same straight down the line so to be offset in time tells me it's not On effects.
-
It is a repeating single string chase
-
Well I don't know then. I'm not familiar with that effects algorithm. It would be much easier to create a straight line model mapped to the same 23 channels and sequence it by proxy.
-
It works perfectly except for the 23rd node. It creates the two "on" segments for node 23, but they are too early.
I think I'll try a model with 22 nodes and see if it is an "even/odd" thing.
-
If I change the Custom Model to just 22 arms, it works correctly (single string chase, bouncing back and forth).
what I've done for now is left it at 23 but, on the Node Level, applied a Black (Off) to Node 23 any time it isn't correct. The single missing arm of the Marty Fan is less bothersome than it flashing out of sequence.
-
Or just model it like I said.

Or just model it like I said.
I will try that, Gil. That is how I model my 16 channel Spiral/Weber Tree. I just use my imagination instead of trying to have a good visual model. I let you know how it works.
Ok. That was pretty quick. The Layout isn't as "accurate" any more, but it renders perfectly just using a 23 node straight line. I'll live with it but I still would like it to work with my model. :)
-
Well that's why I suggest make it a proxy model. You keep your original model and the straight line model you just uncheck "part of my display" so you never see it. You sequence the straight line on the grid but you see the results on the custom model that looks pretty.
