When I test lights in and select red, blue, or green all colors work correctly. When I run a sequence the colors are incorrect. Any thoughts?
-
How are you running the test?

How are you running the test?
When I test I am doing this on the test tab in Xlights and the colors show up correct.
When I play the sequence I am doing this from the sequence tab and the colors are incorrect.

Maybe backup xml, delete fseq, and render. That's a strange one.
Do you have any data layers or imports?
-
Don't know the answer about data layers because I don't know what you're referring to. My sequence was built from scratch in Flights. Nothing was imported.

Hi ,
The test tab will always send out Red, green and Blue to channel 1 ,2 and 3 respectively ie it does not look at your model setup.
The sequencer will . Your model "RGB" definition may not match your actual pixel orientation.
See Sean's latest video on the Wiki for the "Red Blue test".

Interesting, good to know.

I test by dropping an On effect on a model then walking outside and see if the colors match. If they don't match I modify the RGB order inside the controller.

+1^^^^I do what Gil does. I make a 30 second sequence that goes red 10 seconds, green 10 seconds and blue 10 seconds in that order.

I do exactly the same as Gil and Roger. And if it does not match , I change the model definition , so that I have no worry about thinking about (whether there is any difference between) xl output and FP and bridge mode and fseq and importing old stuff to data layers etc etc.
Another thing I do , is have just one model come on at a time for 10 seconds and then go off, so that if there is an overlap it becomes apparent. For the faces , I do each channel for 10 secs.

xl test in select all mode puts every 3rd channel as red so one other thing that I have done is start every model so that it will be a red channel in test mode with select all. Since I started doing that it has been much easier to check out my color selection in the controllers and with Falcon hardware I can change the color order easily without any jumper changes or direct connection to a controller.
