I still use 3 LOR controllers for A/C channels and the serial outputs on the F16v2 can relay the data to them. You just have to build a crossover cable to go from DMX to LOR wiring. I like the PRO controllers because they have the push buttons and display inside and are built very solid.

Lynx Express or Minleon Express would be some possible cheaper options depending on availability.

Second the lynx from diylightanimation.com if you want to solder up your own, or pick up the Minleon commercial version.
The diy version can be 40 amps feed from 2 circuits which you will never need if you use leds. The Minleon is only 20 amps.
They both have a test mode to light up all 16 outputs, you don't read about blown triacs on RJ's design, and they are way less money.

I will also highly recommend the Express Controllers from Minleon. They are the commercial version of the kit-built Lynx Express.
It is my personal opinion that the Lynx Express 16 channel AC controller is the best DMX based AC controller available. I use many of them in my display. I still have several older D-Light DMX based controllers but they will be the "first retired" as I continue on the the Pixel Path.

While they sell it with or without the case, there isn't a big jump in price and it may be worth the money to get them 100% ready to go with case and cables.
Unlike the LOR or D-Light AC controllers, you will NOT need any crossover cables for the the Express. They are 100% standard DMX wiring.

If you join the DLA forum http://diylightanimation.com/index.php (http://diylightanimation.com/index.php) You may find some used LEs for a decent price. I am down to 10 LEs from 14 and did not use any of them this year. I am weighing selling a couple of them. And I'm sure others will be selling them too.

I just posted 5 LEs for sale on diylightanimation.com
