Title: Customize existing model

Is there a way to customize an existing out of the box model?

Are you asking if a model can be changed? Or do you want to convert the model into a custom model?

No you either use them or draw your own.

What I am interested in doing is taking a model, say a Tree 180 or 360... use that as a starting point and make modifications to it.  I was thinking if I could copy that model into excel, modify it, and then paste back into the custom model.

I had a 4 color tree of LED strings that I set as a Tree 360 and 4 Ch. RGBW that gave me issues during sequencing.  It was pointed out to me that I needed to use a custom model, so I went and created a custom model for it.  What I was hoping to do was use the Tree 360 as a starting point and then just modify it for my purpose.

Anyways, just a thought.  Not sure of a full fledge use case though.

No because we draw things like those trees using an algorithm to calculate all the pixel positions for how it's displayed in the layout screen.  Internally all models are represented as a flat matrix in reality you are just trying to make something look pretty for your layout.  In reality you are going to mess up the sequencability of the model if you try to draw a 360 tree as a custom model because you won't be able to do nice sweeps around the tree.
