Ok I give up read everything but dont know how. I have 3 e682s working with xlights. How do I connect and configure everything for my 5 Lor CMB24Ds. I ran them with lor off one sub lor dongle. So much I have programmed testing and shows on computer but I can't do any out put to the CMB24Ds. I got test and work with the dongle but big time lag. So want to run DMX mode and have had no luck.

I ran a CMB24D off of a E682. You need to take a cat 5 cable and cut the RJ45 connector off of one end.
You'll use 3 wires to the 682 Euro connector.
White/Brown Left (GND)
Orange Second screwdown (Clock)
White Orange Third screwdown (Data)
Open - 4th screwdown (+V)
Today a bank sets all 4 ports to use the same protocol. This is a disadvantage for many protocols/string types.
I have heard that new firmware will be out this year for the 682 that will allow different protocols per bank.
Remember to set bank/port to DMX and you should be good to go.
Here's a cat5 to dmx guide.

I read what you told someone about this, so was hoping you would reply. I tried what you said but must not have something right. I set the jumpers to dmx on the cmb24d, I cut the cat5 up and wired to the e682. I didn't get the set up on the e682. I selected dmx and you said use 24 channels, but was not sure where to put the 24 in the configure. I assumed length pixels. Also confused in xlights, how to add. Or maybe nothing to add as that e682 is carrying it. Will it only use one cmb24d board that way or can you link the cmb24ds together via cat5 like regular but just add more channels? Like me, I have 5 cmb24d, so 120 channels. Could you put up a jpg of the e682 configure like you suggest? Did you plug into 4-1 or 4-4, or would any work if you set 4 in use? I am changing all my dumb led to smart this year but have a talking tree I do with dumb. He is a veteran named Forest Stump and want to keep him in the show. Also might make something out of the 16 ribbons of my old dumb LEDs.

On the E682:
Use bank 4.
Use port 4-1.
Configure bank 4 for DMX.
Configure bank 4 with however many total DMX Channels you'll have.
In xlights you first need models. Those models will need to contain the same channel numbers that are assigned to the E682 controller on the xLights Setup tab.
As far as multiple 682 controllers, just use a normal interconnect cable between 682 controllers.

The other details to running this way are the CMB24D jumpers changed to DMX and the 4th bank on J21 or J22 to balanced output.
So I now can use the e682 setup screen to test the outputs and I get lights to the CMB24D and the e682 strings that I had all along.
In Xlights, Hold my hand here.
I set up for a test setup. unicast IP address for the e682, universe 1,2,3,4 with 510 channels each uni. I have 3 models set up for test. One sting 2811 of pixels nodes 50 pieces. Start Channel, 1 output 1. One string of 2811 ribbon Start Channel 1 output 2.
Run test tab rgb etc works fine. No output to the dumb string on the CMB24D.
One sting of dumb rgb ribbon connected to 1~4 on a CMB24D. The dip switches on the CMB24D are set to unit 1. The model is set for 3 channel rgb. What should the Start channel and output be?
What should my model settings be? Should my setup tab be different than described?
Draw me a picture if you have to. I get over this hump and I can start setting up the way I want. I am thinking maybe the CMB24D address needs to be set to something else?
Update..... the cat5 was on 4-4 not 4-1 DOH
All is good for now. Thanks for your help.

Glad you got it sorted. Now take screen shots and help the next guy. The E682 questions trickle in every few weeks.

Will do - have to get on home computer and do it. Been writing on phone and everything else. Plan to do a step by step and include pics and screen shots. Maybe a youtube link.
