Title: Need help with P10 setup.
Post by: Scooby7274 on February 08, 2016, 05:54:27 PM
I got everything set up on the BBB and Xlights, but when I try to play any effect, video or text, the whole panel doesn't show what is being displayed. Only parts of the P10 panels light up. I'll post some screen shots to see what you guys can find. I figure it's a configuration error or my panels are wired wrong.

I'm doing a 3W x 4H matrix.

I haven't yet got to the point you are, but looking at the set up in the GUI shouldn't you have an output 1 panel 1, output 1 panel 2, 3 & 4, output 2 panel 1, output 2 panel 2, 3 & 4 and so on?

Good catch.
I configured it that way and it's much better. I'm still getting the bottom part of the text, etc cut off.

Looking at the panels from the front,
I have JP1 connected to the bottom in on the left side,JP2 connected to the middle in and JP3 connected to the in on the right side. Does that sound right?

Why is the data arrow pointing down on the top row of panels instead of up like the rest?

Also why aren't you incrementing the panel number in each column?
Shouldn't it be...

0-1     0-2     O-3  <--this is JP output
P-4     P-4     P-4   <--this is the panel position in the data run, looks like you will have BBB at bottom

O-1     O-2     O-3
P-3      P-3     P-3

O-1     O-2     O-3
P-2      P-2     P-2

O-1     O-2     O-3
P-1      P-1     P-1

The arrow pointed down was what I was informed to do when I first started the setup. Does it need to be flipped up like the rest? As for the config you mentioned,I'll try it tomorrow.
