Is there a way to create a Spiral MegaTree model that will give a somewhat close representation of what the effects will look like on the tree? I am switching to xLights from Vixen 3 this year and am still trying to get a feel for everything. Vixen didn't really have a way to properly represent the spirals so it was a lot of guess work on how the effect would look on the tree.
Thanks!

What is a Spiral MegaTree...a bunch of A/C strings wrapped in a spiral? If so I don't think we provide a canned way to show that. You can draw your own custom model. Not everything in my yard is perfectly represented on my preview. I use a flat matrix to sequence things and I'm able to imagine how it will look once translated to the real lights.

Yeah it is a Mega tree with the normal strands up and down the tree but then you also take strings and wrap them around the tree to make a spiral effect. All AC channels, I'm running them with Renard SS24's.

On the Wiki , under Custom models - there are two spiral tree models that folks have supplied.
Maybe they will help ?

Those are actually LED/Pixel trees where it is a single strand, not the more traditional megatree wrapped with multiple strands of incans.
Thanks for the suggestions though.

Have been looking for the same thing too....
Andy Harrison showed how he did it in a short video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCllZnSwMdM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCllZnSwMdM)
and shared his model in this post http://nutcracker123.com/forum/index.php?topic=1594.msg9457#msg9457 (http://nutcracker123.com/forum/index.php?topic=1594.msg9457#msg9457)
