Title: Xxcell
Post by: Eric_Edwards on March 15, 2016, 02:15:03 PM
I'm horrible with Xxcell but trying to learn. Does anyone have a spread sheet they use for universe channel  mapping that might have formulas in it already. I'm trying to get it to calculate one cell would be universe number then pixel count then channel for that pixel count the. The Chanells to run in numerical order so I don't have to physically calculate everytime like channel 10003-10345 lol

The setup tab in xLights does that math for you.

If you open the xlights_network xml file in Excel (after adding configuration via the setup tab), you can then use it in Excel for whatever else you want.

(just make sure to save it as something else first :) )

i opened it via excel but it shows everything except the Actuall channel ranges (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/03/20/cba98e7ea7f411d8335ba89a7b612621.jpg)

There have been a number of changes recently that make it easier to track channels in xlights

You can now put a description against your controllers in the setup tab

You can also pause your mouse over the xlights channel number on the layout and models window and a tool tip will appear telling you which controller and channel it maps to. Some times you need to click on the model or channel first for the tool tip to appear.
