Title: WARNING Mac Users: Don't Upgrade Your OS to 10.11.4
Post by: dkulp on March 21, 2016, 06:23:00 PM

Something about the update to 10.11.4 that Apple just released today is causing xLights to completely hang at startup.  No idea what yet.    The other problem is that the update to the latest XCode also breaks compiling xLights so I need to fix that first.     Anyway, if you can wait a few days while I try and sort this all out, that would be great.

Thanks for the heads up Dan on the OS update because I'd rather be able to use Xlights than the new OS as I haven't been that impressed with the 10.11 releases.

Well...I'll be ready to test the latest xlights build that works on 10.11.4 for you then :)

2016.10 works but haven't tried the new layout version on my macbook yet. I'll sit tight :)

Now that I've had a chance to look into this some more, its a bit of a false alarm.  My xlights_rgbeffects.xml file was corrupt and causing a crash on startup, but the Xcode update made it so I couldn't compile a debug version to debug it to determine that.   The compile issue is taken care of and seems to now work for both old and new versions of Xcode and OSX so we should be back to normal.  :)

I did a quick test and can start the 2016.13b app. Need to catch up on the changes from the last month.
