Title: What screen capture program do you use?
Post by: danj on March 28, 2016, 09:12:07 PM
I tried to use screen-cast-o-matic to capture the video & audio of a sequence I am almost finished with (Michael W Smith's version of Emmanuel).   What I found out is that the free version copies video but no audio.   So, I figured I would ask the folks here--what do you use?
Thanks!!

For the 15 bucks per year to capture the PC audio..that's a deal!

I used to only use screencast-o-matic the paid version.  Then Youtube made a change that prevented it from being able to automatically upload.  The fix was I had to upgrade to a beta version.  Well I had nothing but problems with that beta version and never could get good audio that included me speaking and the PC audio at a balanced level so I realized I already owned Camtasia that should be able to work so I tried that and it works great.  But I'm sure none of you will use it because it's a $300 program.  I bought it a couple years ago because there was one thing it did better than anything else at the time and that was some of its recording capabilities when you have multiple monitors.  I have a virtual pinball machine I built and needed to grab videos off the backglass monitor.  Funny thing was for the playfield monitor I had to use FRAPS because it was the only program that worked well when the program is in full-screen mode.  Camtasia had problems with the playfield unless I ran it in Window mode with a border.

Latest version of CyberLink PowerDirector added this capability (version 14).  Love it.
