Title: Select only allows modification with whats on screen?
Post by: JasonPortwood on March 30, 2016, 07:58:31 PM
I noticed that if I select a group of effects and select more than a screen full on those items being displayed are effected by the changes I made.  For example.  I would copy a column of things and paste it elsewhere to only find it pasted only what was on the screen when I selected it.

Is this normal behavior?  I've noticed I have to on occasion hit render just to fix something to display right.  I'm thinking I may be missing something.

Thank you!

Jason

Currently you can only copy what is on screen for the vertical direction...I believe horizontally it works off screen.  The reason is the existing logic I started with only worked for visible rows.

I believe it will paste regardless of what is visible. So, you can zoom out and make the rows smaller to allow more to be selected, then copy, but if you need to zoom in to paste I'm pretty sure it will.

Thank you both for the answers.  I did not think of zooming out.

I tried it and you have to also be zoomed out to paste the whole column in.

I'm using 2016.14.  I can copy 10 effects (for example), go to the edge of the screen and paste and it will paste all effects past the visible portion of the screen (granted there is room).
