Title: Scrolling Text does not appear to work
Post by: needbrew on April 02, 2016, 07:58:30 AM
I have a simple Horizontal matrix defined as 1 p10 panel.  I drop a text on it and enter my text and a scroll from right.  Nothing in the model preview or house preview.

The entire Text effect appears broken.  Doesn't look like any developers have touched it since February so I'm guessing it's a casualty of the switch to wxWidgets 3.1.

I'll quit playing with my text. I thought I'd changed a setting because it disappeared.

Seems to work on the Mac.  Maybe you just need a new computer.   :-)

The 97% of the world that uses Windows doesn't give a crap if it works on MAC.

just nod and smile and and let them pretend that they matter. After all a Mac user is only interested in their image that's why they overpay for junk that doesn't have many practical applications

I'm not an apple user, but I wouldn't consider their stuff junk. My wife's MacBook has lasted through two of my Dell laptops. I consider dell junk.

I would never buy a Dell. I was installing a Dell computer into a chiropractic office when Dell first got started. The first one came built with used parts. I found this out because they forgot to plug in the hard drive  cable . They sent another one out as a replacement I had to take parts from the first one to get the second one to work. Memory chips if I recall.

I seriously don't think any of you have more Mac's in the house than I do.  I'm just over hearing we should run the program on a Mac every time a bug is introduced that is Windows only.

Unfortunately I don't have a choice. That's what my company prefers. They pay for it, so no biggie to me. I won't buy one with my own money.

I have several friends that have tried to get me to use apple. The software I use isn't Mac compatible. They say, run Windows on a mac. That makes me laugh. Why not buy a Ford and put a Chevy motor in?  So, I'm tired of hearing it too. It's also funny how the apple guys say things like you can't get a virus on a mac. Maybe true back a few years ago. But as the user base increases, so will the attacks, and they are just as susceptible.

Actually I have a 2009 Macbook Pro that has almost never booted into MacOS.  I loved the construction of the hardware with the solid aluminum body and the feel of the keys and the beautiful thin screen.  I've mainly only run Windows 7 on it.  But I develop software drivers for a couple products on a side job that have to run on Windows and Mac so I've always needed access to both operating systems.

After 30 years "PC" only (it was my job as a developer and also working Tier 3 Tech Support), Windows 8.(+) drove me nuts. When my Win 7 laptop died I couldn't find a new one that didn't have Win 7. I was walking through the Apple area of Best Buy and thought, "at least take a look".  Long story short, the MacBook came home with me.  (And yes, my wallet was much lighter.)

The true facts are that physically the MacBook is absolutely stunning.  Better case, better batteries, better screen, better .....

Bootcamp is was loaded for 1/2 of the hard drive, with Windows 7 Pro.  It has since been upgraded to Windows 10.  Being able to go back and forth between IOS and Windows  has opened a whole new world.

I will no longer bash either side.  Happy to have the ability to run both.

It doesn't hurt to understand both. I use both: Macbook Pro and my own custom built PC. IPhone and Android.  Tomatoes tamatoes

I found a work around for the broken text.  I had a preset text for my tune to and once I go and load it the old (preset) text runs fine....once it's running I am then able to add new texts......in addition to the preset one.   :)

I believe 2016.17 beta release fixed this.

yes, 2016.17 fixed text.
I just reposted 2016.17 so that the version number in the header correctly shows 2016.17 instead of 2016.16.

You can re download it , if you want, but nothing changes except the version number in title bar.
If you see Text, you are on 2016.17
