Is there a way to create a row of mini trees, similar to the candy canes? I have ten mini trees with 2 colors and 2 AC channels each. I am struggling with drawing them correctly . I can use the single line and create a triangle if need be, but I was wondering if there is a better way.

I used the tree (180 degree) model for my mini trees. Will the native tree model not work for you? To create a row, you simply add each tree to a model group.
Let me know if I didn't understand your post.

I took the same approach James noted above; worked well for me. I have twelve minitrees and grouped them in sixes.

Ok, I have the trees in a group but I can't remember and can't find how to put them in a straight line. Where the create a candy cane model puts them in a straight line automatically. I remember being able to drag a box around the models to put them in a straight line, but that's not working for me.
Thanks, Chris

I don't use that feature so I don't have it memorized how to use it. I can't tell where you're getting stuck when you just say that's not working for me. Does that mean you can't figure out how to drag the box around the models? or you can figure out how to get the align options after you select multiple models?

I cannot figure out how to drag the box around the models. Maybe I need to access it from another screen?
Thanks, Chris

You can use the X and Y position values at the bottom to get them aligned. Your screenshot would use the Y.

Select multiple, right click, align. The object you right click on is the object that the alignment will be based on. So, if you want to align top, you will right click on the model you want to align top to.
The distribute function doesn't work... never has to my knowledge.

I don't think that will work. Those values are based on cursor position. So depending on where the cursor is when you select the model will depend on the value. It's not based on top left, bottom right, etc.

Changing all Y values worked. Thanks

Just hold down ctrl to select multiple models.

Where do you select multiple?

It looks like it will work to align them but you can't move the whole group and keep it aligned.

That works. I remember dragging a box around the models and that was probably in a previous version.

Holding shift will allow you to draw a box around stuff. I thought there was a way to move multiple items, maybe I'm thinking of effects in the sequencer.

Your right you can highlight with shift but can't move them all. This still works better than my old triangle drawn trees. Thanks.

Yes you can move a group of models.
On the Official Nutcracker Facebook page, I recently posted a video of how to do it. Search for "Tip" and it should be one of the first two results. 16-May-16.

That's where I saw it before. I can highlight them all with shift, but when I switch to control only one of the items moves. When using shift they all turn yellow as you demonstrated, then when I switch to control, only the one I click on remains yellow, the rest go to white and only the yellow one moves. I then played with it and I could only get it to work if I highlighted one item, hit shift and highlighted them all, then hit control and grabbed it from the corner of the highlighted one. Then they all moved just as you described. Thank you for your video.
