I'm certain this is easily achievable, but can't find the right effect or setting.
I have a very typical butterfly on my megatree. I want to have my single channel RGB flood light slowly cycle through a rainbow of color to wash the wall behind it. What should I use? Tried butterfly, colorwash, on, but can't get the cycling palette.
Thanks.

Use the Bars effect.

Thanks Gil. According to the manual, bars with the gradient check-box should do what I want, but I still get hard and distinct color changes with the bar and gradient. If I put the bar effect on the whole house model (not just a flood), and just use a pallet of Red, Green, Blue, I still get distinct bars on the model with no discernible difference when I use gradient or not. I've used the render button just to be sure I do not have artifacts. Am I misunderstanding the gradient check-box, or is it misbehaving?

I don't know what you're doing wrong. This is what Bars looks like with a Red, Green, and Blue gradient.

Got it to work (of course). Layer was set to Effect 1. Once I changed to normal, Gradient started working. Thanks again for your help.
