Title: copying node layouts into excel
Post by: Boof63 on August 18, 2016, 07:03:49 AM
Hi am trying to copy the node layout for my matrix (20 X 75) to see how ii can use the new submodels setups.
As it asks for node ranges , was hoping io could copy and paste the node groups i need from the models when you right click on a model in the preview screen. Do so and up comes the node layout, however i cant copy or paste, use Ctrl C  or  Ctrl V to copy into and use.
Anyway to do this or is the requirement for the "Node Range"  something different again
Cheers Boof63

Nope can't do that.  The node layout is just an HTML web page format.  In the submodel screen just hover the mouse over the pixel and it will tell you the number you need.

Thanks Gil,. question then , what node ranges are used (or types , ie 1,2,3,4 or 1-4, 21,22,30-35 etc)
*Edit tried all the above and they work
Question now is my matrix 20 x 75, i wish to split it into 15 equal sections.
I go into submodels and add line 1 then my first set of nodes, then add line 2 , type in my 2nd set of nodes etc.
After typing in 1st set of nodes on line, i can goto worksheet. double click on matrix and my sub model comes up as 'bars vertical' (the name given it), i add the second line and nodes and the bar size has doubled on the preview,
Goto worksheet and still i have only one entry for "bars vertical" can i get "bars vertical" to actually display line1, line2 ,line3  etc.... underneath the submodel, ie as a lisiting for strings or nodes when you expand them in a model.
Cheers and Thanks again

Boof63 :)

To do what you are asking you would create 15 separate sub-models, not 15 lines of one sub-model.

Thanks , hadn't considered that at all :-[
Cheers Boof63
Have played with sub models and it is FANTASTIC!!!!
Very similar to 'HLS segments' for which i am very gratefull.
Could their be a way to rearrange submodels into the order you want or
alternatively edit the subgroup name if you to change it to present in an order that you want.
cheers and thanks heaps!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
