Title: Its all gone?
Post by: Trooper on August 28, 2016, 03:08:19 PM
Something happened to my dropbox account and now everything is gone.  Is there anyway to recover things off the flash drive of one of my Pi's?

Thanks

I believe that is raw data, and there is no going back. I'm not 100% on that.

Are you sure it all gone?  I've gotten messages recently about adding new security and having to create a new password.  That also stated that I would not be able to access any of my old data until I did the update.   Or if you had a big storage pool that came with a phone (like my Samsung and 50mb free for 2 years) you may have hit the end of your free period.

Bummer. Have you clicked on the "Show Deleted Files" icon (the trashcan) in the Dropbox web interface? Normally they keep deleted files around for awhile. If so, you can simply undelete them all.

If you on XP still you won't be able to do dropbox any more.  Well native app.  Web you should be able to still.

You can also recover items.  Basic recovery though unless you are a paid subscriber.

There are various file recovery utilities that you can run on things like SD cards and USB flash drives, but they are typically for things like JPG images, Word documents, etc. Don't know what you're looking for exactly...

You can mount the Pi's media folder on a Windows system over the network by browsing to \\fpp\media or you can just stick the USB flash drive in your Windows machine and copy the files directly.  That will only get you the media and fseq files though unless you also uploaded your XML to FPP.

Seems like the op is all gone.  No responses to anyone.
