I have multiple props that have sub-models and it would really be useful if I could put the sub-models in a group somehow. The sub-model feature is wonderful if you only have one prop but I find that I still need to make duplicate models because I want to do effects that apply to just the sub-models across multiple props. For example, I have 4 of the HolidayCoro RGB tombstones and I have sub-models of the "RIP" and outline of the tombstones. I would like to drop effects on just the RIP or Outline across all 4 tombstones without having to drill down and drop the effect on each sub-model separately.

I'm actually running into the same issue. I love the sub-model addition. Just wondering now how do I apply the same effect to each sub-model.

If you grouped the sub-models an effect dropped on the group is not going to look the same as dropping on each one individually anyways. For the most part major structural code changes are coming to a halt for the year so that we can stabilize the program. Also this topic has been talked about several times. Odds are whenever you have an idea we've already thought about it.

You have to re-phrase this, say:
lor, lsp, hsp, vixen, you can do this and xlights cannot..
In about a week xlights will..
-
Yay, but its getting to be xlights can do all this and more .... Why are you using the other program.

Maybe if I thought adding the feature would really piss off Alan it would get done...lol.

Rather makes this whole thread superfluous then doesn't it ...

It is more fun when they think they are doing the opposite of what you want done, when in reality it's the opposite of the opposite, or was it the opposite of the opposite of the opposites opposite.
Either way, it works :)

I'm working on my own props right now.
