I did some test sequences with xLights_Nutcracker_2016_40 and yesterday when I tried to start xLights_Nutcracker; the program failed to start.
I've decided to uninstall the program and the show directory and do a fresh install. At the end of the install the option to launch the application and to open the README file was highlighted; but only the README file had opened. I even tried double clicking on the desktop icon but xLights_Nutcracker_2016_49 wont launch.
Please help

If you can find the log file and post it that would be great. Mine is found at this location. You have to have hidden files and folders enabled to see the AppData folder.
C:\Users\Gil\AppData\Roaming\xLights_l4cpp.log
Also one user reported there was a Windows 10 update that broke xLights for him then next update 1607 fixed it. You didn't mention what OS you are one because we work in 3 of them.

I am running Windows 10.
Please find attached my log file.
Thanks

There is a discussion on DiyChristmas about this issue. If you are using Windows 10 make sure you are updated to the latest Windows version 1607, that seems to fix the issue. To find your current Windows version go to Settings:System:About, or just check for Updates.

Yeah that crash log looks exactly what the other user described. Check your Windows 10 version. Mine is 1607.

Well I'm about to walk out the door heading to CA. It's crashing near a couple spots where we try to access the registry to look for your stored settings. Maybe you should speak up in that other thread and see if that user that fixed his own problem has any ideas. Only he knows all the other steps he did to fix it.
