I somehow created an effect, which I believe is shimmer, that I applied to a model that I have since deleted. I keep having a bunch of props lighting up at random. I have looked thru every individual prop but the effect does not show up. Being new at xlights it took me a while to create the timing track so I really don't want to delete the sequence and start over. Is editing the XML file the only way to get rid of the unwanted effect? Can the .XML file be wiped clean and start over? (I have only just begun working on this song again, so I wouldn't loose much at all doing it that way)

You can export the timing track and start a new sequence and import the timing track if you can't figure it out. If you have overlapping ch#'s or an effect applied to a model group, this could happen. Also, if you ever put sparkles on a color, all subsequent effects will have sparkle applied too, until you move the slider back to 0. I'd try to figure it out first.

On the tools menu export effects. It will create a file that tells you where every effect in the sequence is.

Also check sequence will highlight any channel overlaps.

I do not know how to open a .csv file, so I had to move on to other solutions. I did not have any channel overlaps. I ended up exporting the timing track, deleting the sequence, create a new sequence and import the timing track. Worked great.
Thank You!

You should be able to open a CSV file in excel, notepad, notepad++, etc.

Any time you delete effects, be sure and hit render all, otherwise you're seeing the rendered data effects from the last time you rendered.

also if you cant see the effect , open the model down to the node level. I have imported HLS sequences and they import onto the nodes but doesn't register on the model effect line. but they play when you play the sequence.
So open up to node level and see if their is some effect on the model.
