Title: Import Mapping for RGB
Post by: deplanche on November 14, 2016, 09:11:09 AM
I am trying to resurrect a few of my old Vixen 2.X sequences in xlights.

I am trying to use the Import/Import Effects in order to map the channels from Vixen to xlights. I have that figured out just fine for AC channels. However, I can't seem to figure out how to bring in a dumb RGB string.

The model/strand/node on the xlights side for the import are all shown just fine.  And I can pick a channel from the vixen file to associate with that.  But I am trying to map 3 channels in Vixen to one of those nodes because in Vixen I needed to control it on the channel level for each color.  So each node, needs the R, G, and B, channels from vixen.  Is there a way to map those all to the same node in xlights?

It seems like there should be a way because if I import via the sequence settings, it brings in all 3 colors for the same node. I can always use that if needed, but trying to edit some of that, so the channel mapping would be preferable.

Thanks,

Jon

Its a known problem with no projected fix.

Yeah the problem is people kept talking about Vixen import issues all year but I never saw files posted that we could work with.  It sounded like some people were importing files so I thought it was working for some people.  None of us are experts on the import code since none of us use Vixen.  Not sure who wrote that code.  Anyways its a little late in the season for any of us to tackle it now.

No worries, I thought I was just missing a step somewhere (like I typically do).  I can always just import it in the sequence settings and put an "off" effect over the parts that I don't want to use anymore.  You guys make it easy to find a way to do just about anything.
