Title: XLights4 (latest version) won't run on Windows 10
Post by: drchaz@gmail.com on November 15, 2016, 12:44:53 PM
I downloaded the latest version of xLights. When I turn to run it on my Windows 10 laptop, I see the spinning circle for a few seconds and then nothing.

Any ideas?

Chuck

Xlights been running fine on mine right along but once. it was many versons ago and did the same thing. All I did was a clean install.  Just not an upgrade. after that it came up fine.

Check your log file c:/users/(you)/appdata/roaming/xlights_log4cpp.log. You likely have an error message there that hints at the problem.

AppData is normally a hidden folder so you need to click the View tab in Windows Explorer and check the Hidden Items checkbox to see it.  Everyone on Windows has this folder.
