Title: 2016.52 Pixel On Effect
Post by: medeneault on November 15, 2016, 01:31:54 PM
First time post.  I am attempting to create a Candy Cane effect for a CAN CAN sequence I am working on.  The Candy Cane model is 16 RGB nodes to replicate a Candy Cane from HolidayCoro.  I want the Candy Cane to red and white striped like a candy cane normally looks.  So I figured I would use the "ON" effect and alternate each node between RED and White.  At first I could not get the nodes to render until I added the same "ON" effect to the Candy Cane model, then the nodes would render, but now I am only rendering about 75% of the effect for each node.  I tried playing around with the intensities but no matter what I do the nodes will only render to about 75% of the full effect that I want.  Maybe I don't understand what I am doing but it seems to me I should be able to add an "ON" effect at 100% intensity and it should fill the entire effect time block.

What if you tried the Marquee effect with red and white selected for colors and drop that on the model, not the individual nodes?  Band size 1, speed 0.

Yea.. too much work.   Marquee or Single Strand/Skips at the model level would work much better.
